Rising costs for memory, SSDs, and processors are beginning to impact the broader server and infrastructure market. As we approach the end of Q1, we want to provide a quick update on what’s happening across the industry and how Velasea is helping customers navigate these changes.
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE MARKET
The global hardware market is experiencing renewed pressure across key components including memory, SSDs, and processors. Several manufacturers have already begun adjusting pricing across multiple product portfolios.
As a result, pricing volatility is beginning to impact system configurations, custom builds, and quoting timelines across the industry.
WE’VE BEEN PREPARING FOR THIS
- Velasea began preparing for potential supply chain and pricing pressure by proactively adjusting our approach to inventory and system design.
- To mitigate the pricing and supply issues, we are leveraging our Velasea global teams and global partners to locate and secure components at the best possible pricing. To date, Velasea has spent $30M+ to bolster our inventory positions across multiple component and system categories.
- We’ve added over 10 new partners helping us mitigate and source.
- We’ve dedicated multiple team members whose sole responsibility is to track pricing, availability, and component trends.
- We will be adding multiple vendors to our product mix to better position ourselves across the hardware landscape.
PRICING CHANGES + UPDATED QUOTE TERMS
Leading enterprise hardware manufacturers have recently announced pricing increases across several product lines including memory, SSDs, and processors.
In addition to price increases, these manufacturers have also significantly shortened the validity window for custom system quotes. In many cases, quotes are currently only being honored for approximately 14 days due to rapid pricing fluctuations.
Historically, Velasea catalog pricing and system quotations were honored for up to 90 days. Given current market volatility, we are adjusting our quote validity timelines to better reflect supplier conditions.
WORK WITH THE VELASEA TEAM TO EVALUATE YOUR OPTIONS
As pricing and availability continue to shift, working closely with your Velasea sales team is more important than ever. Our team can help guide customers through current market conditions, review project timelines, and recommend the right infrastructure strategy.
While enterprise-grade systems remain a core part of our portfolio, Velasea also supports additional Tier 1 platforms that may be worth exploring depending on your project needs and current pricing conditions.
Available options include:
- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Systems
- Lenovo Enterprise Infrastructure
Your Velasea representative can help review configurations, evaluate alternatives, and ensure your projects stay on track despite changing market conditions.
WHAT’S NEXT
At ISC West 2026, we will be launching the Iron Link Professional Series: a new product line designed to provide an additional professional-grade infrastructure option for customers navigating today’s hardware market.
The P-Series is designed specifically to:
- Provide optimized configurations for surveillance and security workloads
- Reduce overexposure to high-density AI-tier components
- Deliver performance-balanced systems aligned with real-world deployment needs
The P-Series is not intended to replace Tier-1 platforms, but rather provide another powerful option when evaluating performance, availability, and pricing flexibility. Velasea’s new Professional Series lineup delivers purpose-built appliances focused on the security and surveillance market, providing better performance and total cost of ownership/ROI.
