For Velasea’s latest charitable contribution, we decided to go hyper-local by giving back to a fellow Irvine-based organization. As a born-and-bred south OC company, we are thankful to witness first-hand the incredible work being done by Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
“Second Harvest Food Bank is facing an unprecedented challenge with the spread of COVID-19 and its effects on the local economy. When schools close, half of public school children will be missing the free and reduced price meals they receive at schools, placing an increasing burden on limited family resources.”
They are currently running virtual food drives, in addition to their traditional collection methods. Every $1 provides 3 meals and 100% of the proceeds go toward purchasing food.
